The metaphor in Sherni is evident, yet understated. The parallels are seamlessly woven into the narrative and I found myself rooting for both the tigresses. While the stupendous performances from the competent star cast elevate the impact of the proceedings, I believe that the ‘writing’ is what makes it an absorbing environmental thriller.

Starting A New Business? 7 Key Points To Keep In Mind
When I had resigned from my corporate job to pursue an alternate career path almost a decade ago, entrepreneurship was not really the talk of the town.
However, the scenario has changed completely today and it is wonderful to see talks about entrepreneurship in every forum and platform. Even the Government has been coming up with numerous initiatives and schemes to support and encourage entrepreneurs. There has been an upsurge in the number of small and medium scale businesses run by women which is not just a great sign for the economy, but is also very inspiring.
As a part of my work, I have been mentoring many women on entrepreneurship and have discovered that though women have amazing ideas and execution skills, sometimes lack of direction and right guidance can hinder their growth. I have realized that a little bit of hand-holding at the beginning goes a long way in instilling confidence, clarity and an insatiable hunger in them.
Based on my interactions with women trying to establish their ventures in various industries, the most common point/query that keeps coming up during discussions is – “What are the basic and important things to keep in mind or put into place while starting a new business or venture?”
In this post, I am not going to talk about registering the business and similar tasks that are obvious and process-oriented. Rather, I will be focusing on the mental, intuitive and skill-based aspects of entrepreneurship. These points would be applicable for small/medium scale enterprises.
Starting a new business first needs a vision
Be clear about your vision because everything else follows from here.
You have a passion and you want to convert it into a profitable business. This is wonderful but it’s important to think beyond the products and services before starting itself.

I am not a poet
The first creative piece that I ever wrote as a child was a poem. There is something magical about poetry. Even a single line can evoke several emotions within the reader. Poetry is profound and gentle, structured and abstract, meticulous and carefree, broken and whole. It is everywhere, within us and around us.
On the occasion of World Poetry Day, here is my ode to poetry.
No! I am not a poet.
Diamante to get launched in India
“A gentleman’s choice of timepiece says as much about him as does his Saville Row suit.” – Ian Fleming
Isn’t this so true? In today’s times, when we have numerous devices around us to check the accurate time, watches have become more about making a style statement or accessorizing your look on any special occasion. I have always loved exploring different brands and designs of watches, and hence, I was excited to chance upon the beautiful product range of Diamante.
What I Did When I Got Locked Out Of My Instagram Account
A couple of weeks ago I got locked out of my Instagram account while setting up a new mobile handset. It was a disaster as a digital content creator, but here’s what I did.
Having my hands into multiple lines of work, I have four separate profiles on the platform, each for a different purpose. While I was easily able to reset the passwords of my business accounts using the ‘forgot password’ option, I got stuck when it came to recovering my content creator’s account which is in my name, locked out of my Instagram account!

Do we really need to see ourselves 10 years ahead?
Yesterday was 10th August. Exactly 10 years ago, I was gearing up for a presentation on SAP HANA at the SAP World Tour in Melbourne. As a senior consultant at Infosys, it was a huge responsibility for me, and my managers had immense faith in me, which added to the pressure.
Eventually, the presentation went well and the feedback was extremely encouraging from all quarters. I knew that this also meant I would get a stellar rating in the following appraisal cycle and possibly, even a promotion. However, that day became a milestone day in my life for reasons other than what I would have thought back then.

Jee Le Zara – Trailer Review
An all women group taking to the roads in a top together. Will this be the “women travelling together” film we’ve been waiting for, or will it follow stereotypes about women?
‘An all women trip’ – just the sound of it is exhilarating, isn’t it? If not gone on one, most of us have at least dreamt of chilling out with our female pals at gorgeous locales to make memories for life.
A memorable short stay at Jungle Lodges Blackbuck Resort
COVID has changed a lot of things for all of us. So much so that I sometimes wonder whether we will ever truly be able to get back to what was normal for us. It seems like a privilege as I think about it now. One aspect of life that got impacted tremendously has been the way we all travel now. Traveling during the pandemic is a different ballgame altogether. Personally, we consciously decided to not plan any trip even after things opened up. With a 6-year-old at home, we have been extra-cautious about our visits to public places. However, it had been almost a year of quietening the wanderer within us and we felt a desperate need to break away from the mundane. This led to our first getaway in the post-COVID era to Jungle Lodges Blackbuck Resort in Bidar. The Blackbuck Resort is nestled next to the Vilaspur Lake, close to the Honnikeri Reserve Forest.

Movie Review – Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl
During one of the crucial scenes in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, a daughter wants to give up on her dreams to tread the path that most girls chose back then. A visibly disheartened father says to her, “I want to give you the wings to fly and you are asking me to cut those wings.”
I was watching the movie with my father and couldn’t help but think that every girl deserves a father like hers, and like mine.
